Blooming Japanese Apricot: Ume

The early-spring flower Ume (Japanese apricot) is in bloom. Ume is the first to announce the arrival of spring in the cold of late January.

Another typical spring flower, Sakura (the cherry blossom), will bloom around mid-March.
