The Day the Atomic Bomb Was Dropped on Hiroshima

At 8:15 a.m. on August 6, 1945, the United States military dropped an atomic bomb over the city of Hiroshima. On this date in 2023, Japan observed a minute of silence in honor of the atomic bombing victims and in prayer for lasting peace in the world.

Nuclear weapons have not been used in war for 78 years to this day due to the sacrifices of more than 200,000 people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, where the atomic bombs were dropped.
