Former Prime Minister Abe Digital Flower Donation Project

On July 8, 2022, former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo was shot and killed. The sudden news of his death was disheartening to all Japanese.

On the occasion of the national funeral to be held on September 27, a group of volunteers in their 20s and 30s have taken the initiative to launch the Digital Flower Donation Project, a platform to express their gratitude and condolences to him.

The digital offering of flowers is free to all. Enter your nickname, age, and message to him in the form, select the type of flower illustration you would like to offer, and send it. The top page of the project homepage is in line with many illustrations of flower offerings, and by clicking on them, you can read messages written by others. The condolences and word of appreciation sent will be delivered to Mrs. Akie at a later date.

Digital offerings exceeded 330,000 and were extended through September 30 due to heavy access.

The young generation has made full use of modern technology to create a place to give thanks and condolences to the deceased in this way. This is the legacy that he has left us, and the seeds he sowed will continue to spread in a positive way.
